The “fighters” among them talk casually about shooting aliens as if they were participating in a live action game of Halo while the civilians talk about the death of loved ones calmly as if they have had no time to address the emotions related to their loss. It is immediately clear that we are watching people who have become desensitized to the insanity around them and as a result they cling to any small reminder of what life was like before this was the norm. Falling Skies beautifully depicts the fragile balance that allows these people to survive the horror of their occupation. The world that has been created and the characters that are introduced are so realistic that this could have easily been a series about a war and occupation between two countries rather than two planets. The humans are united against their common alien enemy, but in a world where your history Alex Anzalone Hat , job and salary are relatively meaningless, they still struggle to overcome the basic divisions that plague humanity. The production values are incredible for a television series and although we don’t see very much of them right away Marcus Williams Hat , the aliens are terrifying and you should be prepared for a couple moments that may make you jump out of your seat. Although it starts off slow, I really enjoyed watching the Falling Skies premiere. These starting episodes are really about introducing the viewer to the fundamentals of the conflict and helping us understand the main characters without getting too deep. With the world that Falling Skies has introduced Ryan Ramczyk Hat , I was often reminded of Battlestar Galactica and District 9 because Falling Skies has created a space where similar themes can be explored.
